According to one website we found, Google is not actually the Android creator. We know that Google gets all of the current credit for these phones. Most people even think of them as “Google phones”. From what we could find out, the actual creators of the Android OS are Rich Miner and Andy Rubin. It was actually invented in 2003 by these guys who then sold it to Google for a tidy profit. After Google bought the OS it sat on the system for a few years while Google developers worked on it more and get it prepared for use in mobile devices. Usually phones that use the Android operating system are easier to afford than the other smart phones that are out there. iPhones and Blackberries are usually sold for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. At the same time, the cell phone providers are letting their customers get free Android phone upgrades when they renew their contracts. So, without having to drop many hundreds of dollars, you are able to have all of the same smart phone options that other smart phone owners have. Saving money is always a good way to endear yourself to customers. Why would you spend hundreds of dollars if that can be avoided?
The OHA incorporates the Android OS as part of the Open Handset Alliance. Many companies are working together to update and advance the operating system on a continual basis. Grabbing the majority of press interest gives Google the appearance of being the largest company but there are others with the same interests. There are many companies in different locations around the world working with a variety of mobile providers. This in fact has helped the universe recognize the Android OS as a cellular operating device. Many users will single out the Android OS only for it’s open source and ease of development. Google phones are shrouded in as many facts as rumors. The simple fact is that Google phones (the phones that use the Android OS) are becoming more widely spread throughout the cell phone market. Cellular developers like Samsung, Motorola and HTC are all using the Android operating system now. The good news is that smart phones are cheaper and more readily available than ever. The bad news is that, well, there doesn’t really seem to be much bad news about smart phones at all does there?
